Located in beautiful Truckee, California, Tahoe Forest Church (TFC) is situated on 52 acres bordering the pristine Truckee River. Set in an idyllic mountain location, the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program (TRLP) develops and guides aspiring Christian leaders for one year through experiential ministry training. Leadership and spirtual development, service learning, and ministry work are the four areas of focus for the program. The TRLP provides participants with professional skills for planning, organizing, and developing Christian ministries. Resident Leaders experience a unique perspective into vocational ministry through leadership training and serving alongside pastors and ministry leaders. Participants live in a beautiful house on the Church Campus as part of the residential program, which fosters close-knit relationships. Residents enjoy a unique, immersive experience with the natural setting of the church property.
Service work and outreach will be an important part of the program experience. Residents will serve both locally, regionally, and internationally. Organizations we have served:

Team Building/Vision Casting
1. Who is an outstanding candidate?
Our applicants are 18-25 years old and are either recent high school graduates, current college students, or college graduates. Strong candidates desire vocational skill training in a ministry setting and are typically young adults that have some ministry experience on a church staff, and have demonstrated a potential for leadership.
2. Does the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program provide housing?
Yes! We have a beautiful home overlooking the mountains and river that we provide to our resident leaders. Five to six residents live in the house.
3. Can I work and still be a resident leader at the same time?
The Tahoe Residential Leadership Program offers participants a wide range of opportunities, mentoring, skill training, collaborative learning, and spiritual growth that will certainly require the majority of participants energy and time. However, we also recognize the need and value for young adults to earn some income. Our program expects a minimum commitment of 25-30 hours a week, with some weeks requiring much more. Therefore, we support participants who would like to hold part-time jobs as long as it does not conflict with regular program commitments.
4. Can I bring a vehicle?
Yes. Resident Leaders are allowed to bring personal vehicles to campus. There is plenty of space at the house for residents to park their car.
5. When can I start?
The program begins June 1, 2020 and ends May 1, 2021. Residents are able to request time off for personal reasons or family vacations with at least two weeks notice to the program director for approval.
