2022/2023 RESIDENT LEADERS
MICHELLE HUNTE
2022/23
Resident Leader
Hey I’m Michelle. I’m a soon-to-be graduate of Liberty University and a sister. I live in Orangeburg, Sc, but am from the island of Barbados. From high school to now God has been guiding me in my relationships and ministry to develop me. As I have been a part of para church, missionary, and local church operations, I have always said I want to be prepared in such a way that if God says go and I can.
If there is one statement that I can share that encompasses all of my life experiences it's this...
I know now that no one is 100% ready all the time, but if God wants me there He will equip me.

HANNAH BETHARDS
Summer 2022
Resident Leader
Hannah Jeanne Bethards is preparing to follow her calling as a teacher by pursuing a double major in Mathematics and Biblical Studies at William Jessup University in Rocklin, California. KATAI
MUTALE
Summer 2022
Resident Leader
Hello! My name is Katai Mutale (pronounced kah-tye moo-tah-lay). I am from Lusaka in Zambia, a beautiful country in southern Africa. I am a rising senior studying Communications at Pepperdine University.
I have various passions, most of them revolving around the field of the arts. Aside from being a teacher and preacher of the Word, I love representing God through visual arts, stories, poetry, drama, and (soon) film. I mainly use social media to share this. I believe the Truth is needed more than ever in this generation, and having it represented artistically is a powerful medium to lead all people (especially young people) to the Savior.
I am slightly reserved (at first) but very friendly. I am known to greet or teach anyone I meet a saying in a different language, tell long stories with great detail, crack jokes, compliment/encourage, find a way to make anything and everything a sermon, and share cute or silly videos, especially ones that involve dogs. I look forward to growing and learning more about this community and Christ over the next few weeks!
KYLIE
PILKINTON
Summer 2022
Resident Leader
My name is Kylie Pilkinton, I am a sophomore at Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego California. I grew up in America and New Zealand. I lived in Tahoe, California, and Wanaka, NZ, and am bi-cultural. I grew up reading, dancing, and skiing and still enjoy those hobbies. I love traveling-my dream travel destination would be India because I learned about it in school and fell in love with the culture! My faith means so much to me and I love to be part of weekly worship night with friends when I’m at school.
ANNA LISE
REINER
SUMMER 2022
Resident Leader
Hi! My name is Anna Lise. I grew up in New York but then moved out to California after graduating high school. I have been living in the Sacramento area for the past 5 years. I
attended a local community college and then transferred to William Jessup University where I have been studying psychology with a concentration in international psychology. I graduate in May 2021.
Attending William Jessup really helped me in my faith journey through all the study and
conversations we had around the bible and the Christian faith. I finally made the decision to
follow Jesus in December 2020 after years of learning and growing in my personal relationship with God. Unexpected to me, I have come to have a love of studying the bible and having deep conversations about God and faith. I never knew what I wanted to be ever since I was a kid and growing up. So even now I’m not sure where my journey in life will take me. All I know is that I’m open to what God has planned for me and am taking this life with Him step by step. Needing an internship for my major, I was led to the Resident Leadership Program at Tahoe Forest Church after hearing Terrance speak at one of Jessup’s chapels. This is a next step for me in my walk with God and I am so looking
forward to growing in my leadership skills and faith from this experience.
I also love the outdoors, being in nature, and being active. One of the strongest ways I feel God
is when I’m in nature admiring the beauty, mystery, and grandness of His creation. I have only been to Tahoe once before and I remember it being so beautiful and I have been dying to go back. So, I’m so excited to finally return and get to live and spend the summer up there and take part in all this program has to offer! I suspect this will be a transformative experience and a summer to remember!

GRACE VAZQUEZ
2020/2021
Resident Leader
My name is Grace Vazquez. I am currently a student at Biola University, which lies in the heart of La Mirada, California. I was born and raised in Southern California with my lovely family. Ever since I was a kid I knew I wanted to do ministry. My grandparents were missionaries/pastors at our church when I was little and seeing how much joy it brought them to serve the Lord inspired me to do the same. And while they might have been the igniting fire, it truly is the love I have for Jesus that makes me want to serve those in my community. At Biola I am currently studying ministry as well which I really feel is equipping me to do God’s work. I am so excited for this opportunity because it will give me the chance to put into the practice all the things I have been learning. A favorite quote which I would like to take with me into this next season is one by Audrey Hepburn, she says, “There’s no such thing as impossible, the word itself says I’m possible!” And I think that is true of all of us, because when Christ is inside of us – and we allow the spirit to work in our lives, impossible things are bound to happen.

DARIN
DIEP
SUMMER 2021
Resident Leader
My name is Darin Diep and I live in Fresno, CA. I go to Azusa Pacific University and I am a Biblical Studies and Humanities major. While I don't know God's plan for my life just yet, I know that I have been called into ministry and to serve. I am SO excited to be joining the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program. I'm hoping that I will come out of this summer knowing God more deeply and have a clearer vision of the area of ministry that God is calling me into. I have a special place in my heart for spiritual revival and healing from trauma, and I'm hoping to explore these areas more in depth. On a more personal note, I have an amazing mother and one brother, but it feels like I have 5 siblings. I recently discovered a love for gaming painting, both of which take up too much of my time! And I know everyone says they love food, but I REALLY love food. Snacks are my weakness and carbs are a close second. Two goals that I have set while I'm in Tahoe include going camping for the first time, and learning to overcome my hate for bugs. All in all, I believe the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program will be an amazing experience and I'm incredibly excited as I look forward to seeing how God moves!
JESIKAH GARCIA
SUMMER 2021
Resident Leader
Hi, I am Jesikah!
I am currently a student at Wheaton College, double majoring in Bible and Theology with an integrative in English Literature. What I am looking forward to this summer is the community—joining in God's story, joining the story of the Israelites, while living out the Holy Living word of God in a concrete form. A verse that God has placed in my heart is "Be doers of the word, and not only hearers" (James 1:22). I desire to gain a better understanding of servanthood, in humility and love, while growing in faith (Phil 2:2-8). At Wheaton College, we participate in prayer walks or take strolls near the neighborhood. If you would like to chat, grab some coffee, or have a prayer walk, don't be afraid to come up to me and ask. I can't wait to see the people of God in Lake Tahoe! I hope God's grace, abundance, and presence are with you always.
See you soon!

Passionate about aiding others along their mental health journeys, I love getting to know people’s unique stories. I get excited about playing an active role in creating community, and I strive to make space for people to be seen, known, and loved. Wakeboarding, hiking, reading, making art, and traveling are some activities I love!
I am stoked to be a part of the TRLP this summer, and I am thankful for the opportunity. I trust that God will be working in big ways this summer, and I am excited to grow and be a part of that work.
KATIE NICHOLAS
SUMMER 2021
Resident Leader
My name is Katie, and I grew up in Southern California. I attend Biola University where I am studying psychology and intercultural studies. God has given me a passion for cross-cultural ministry, and I feel that the primary call on my life is to further the spread of the Gospel through missions. I would eventually love to work as a counselor, providing service to people somewhere within the 10-40 window. I love outdoor adventures - hiking, swimming, camping, you name it! I am very excited for the outreach opportunities and spiritual growth (not to mention the beautiful location!) this residency program offers.

2020/2021 RESIDENT LEADERS
TREVOR
ADAMS
2020-2021
Resident Leader
Hey! My name is Trevor Adams. I am from Chico, California and I've never lived anywhere else outside of Chico. So this is a huge step for me, and I'm glad I’ll be living in one of the most beautiful places anywhere near Chico. I was raised in a Christian household but didn't find my own faith until my freshman year of highschool. I was introduced to Younglife, a Chrsitian outreach organization, as a freshman and I've been involved ever since. I started out as a student attendee, but now I'm a Wyldlife leader for the middle schoolers of Paradise Charter Middle School. Younglife has sent me all over the country to states like Missouri, Arizona, Oregon and many places in California to serve as a worker and leader at different Younglife camps. I don't know what type of relationship I would have with God if it were not for Younglife so I am eternally grateful for the organization and the opportunities it has given me. I'm also so glad I have been given this opportunity to be able to live at this house and learn so much about what it means to be a Chrisian leader so later I can go back in a year and pour right back into my middle school friends exactly what has been poured into me. My desire to become a better Wyldlife leader is my driving force for wanting to live and learn here in Tahoe. I am super excited for what this year has in store for me!
EVAN FIDDYMENT
2020-2021
Resident Leader
My name is Evan Fiddyment. I was born and raised in Tahoe Forest Church. From a very young age I had always felt God calling me into pastoral ministry. I grew up watching Pastor Mike speak from the stage and I knew that is where God was calling me. Since then I have been dedicated to answering His call and pressing deeper into the heart of God. I was able to intern for two years until the summer of 2019 when Pastor Terrence and Pastor Tony decided to bring me on staff as the middle school coordinator. For most of my teenage and now young adult life I have been seeking out mentorship and deep spiritual growth. I am still young and I'll always have a lot to learn. I chose this program because I believe it's something God has gifted the church with the opportunity to do. I know that it will benefit me greatly as I continue to walk the road of ministry. Also, who wouldn't want to live in that house?!
JACOB JOHNSON
2020-2021
Resident Leader
My name is Jacob Johnson and I was born in Torrance, California. I am super stoked to have this opportunity be in this program! I'm just a few weeks away now from graduating from CSU-Long Beach with a BA in Communication Studies. Most of my childhood and teenage years consisted of lots of sports, video games, playing outside with friends and Mountain Dew. I came to know the Lord when I was 13 years old. I didn't grow up in a Christian household but I had an awesome youth pastor and youth leaders who helped me begin to understand the whole God thing and what it meant to be a Christ follower. Early on in my walk I felt the Lord had a calling on my life to someday enter into full time ministry. Over the years I’ve continued to feel that calling and am so stoked to spend this next year preparing and learning all that I can to help fulfill that. I discovered my passion for the outdoors when I was about 16 years old after a trip to a Christian adventure camp called Rock N Water with my youth group. It was the first time I had really experienced adventure in that way! Rock climbing, white water rafting, and sleeping under the stars I hardly even knew really existed until then. I fell in love with it. The next summer I went back, but this time as an employee. I couldn't believe I was getting paid to lead adventures in God's beautiful creation for youth groups. I very quickly developed a passion for working with youth in the outdoors and have worked at Rock N Water for the past 7 summers. When I wasn't at camp for the summer I worked at an indoor rock climbing gym for about two years while taking classes at community college and volunteering as a leader in the youth group. I spent most of my free time climbing, playing basketball and ultimate frisbee. Once I transferred to CSU-LB I found a new job working for an adventure company based out of LA as a coordinator and guide. We specialized in taking inner city youth from LA and San Diego on adventures. The thing I miss most since the stay at home order has been worshipping with fellow believers. I am so looking forward to when we can all do that together again!
NICK
RAE
2020-2021
Resident Leader
Hi, my name is Nick Rae and I'm super happy about doing this program and becoming more involved in the church I grew up going to. I'm 19 years old and I have lived in Truckee pretty much my whole life. I've always been passionate about sports and the outdoors. Soccer was my life from 4th grade all the way to my senior year at Truckee High. Truckee High brought many new sports into my life that I have come to love such as track, skiing, and ultimate Frisbee. I always thought that I wanted to become a collegiate athlete, it was my biggest desire throughout my soccer career and even my senior year with Track and Field. But one summer at a summer camp that the Tahoe Forest Church High school youth group attends, I got this idea in my head that I shouldn't focus on becoming a collegiate athlete but I should focus more on trying to go to a Christian college. So I shifted my focus and started looking for a Christian college that stood out to me. Immediately Point Loma Nazarene University stuck out to me and became my dream college. About three months later I was insanely surprised and beyond happy that I got into my dream college. I had to do this program at Point Loma for students who didn't have the schools required acceptance GPA or SAT. This program was the hardest thing I have ever done in my whole life, but being at Point Loma made me motivated to excel and prove that I can be a college student. I received 4 A’s and 2 B’s in my first semester which is something I had never accomplished. I have always been interested in cameras and I got really into videography in middle school but then that shifted to photography in high school and it's been a hobby ever since. My new dream job is to become a travel adventure photographer because I love photography, the outdoors, and traveling. One thing that Point Loma taught me was no matter where I go next year, it has to have a Christian community. My good friend Evan Fiddyment told me that Tahoe Forest Church was in the works of creating this new program. I got excited about started to talk with Pastor Terrence and Ryan Aldrich about the program as it was being formed. I see this program as a gift from God and also the work of God in my life because this program came up as soon as I decided to not go to Point Loma. I'm very happy to be doing this program and look forward to working with the church!
CONNOR VAUGHAN
2020-2021 Resident Leader
My name is Connor Michael Vaughan. I have two younger sisters and two amazing parents who have done an amazing job raising me. As the oldest sibling, I have a big responsibility of being a good role model and helping guide the way for my sisters. The year after I graduated high school I attended the Joshua Wilderness Institute. While at Joshua, I learned so much about who God is and who I am as his child. I was also able to practice healthy habits without the distractions of the world. As a result, I obtained so much wisdom and learned to put that into practice and live in a way that is pleasing to God and is pushing his will. The holy spirit revealed a lot of faults and ungodly things that were in me that I needed to remove and continue to work on. I had to reconcile and apologize to people that I had wronged and forgive myself for what I had done, even If they have not. I grew my understanding of what it looked like to live for God and not act on my own agenda. I learned that I needed to take responsibility for my actions and to use what God has given me to benefit others. That is what makes a good role model and is what I am striving to be. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Whether that be playing games outside, having deep conversations or just catching up. My favorite game to play is Spikeball, I enjoy it so much that I am an ambassador. I also love throwing the frisbee or playing some basketball. When I am not outside hanging out with friends, I love playing video games with the boys. I want to do the Tahoe Resident Leadership Program for four main reasons. First, I grew up in Tahoe Forest Church and love everything about it. Second, I want to continue to grow in my knowledge and wisdom. Third, I want to get more involved in the church and serve as best as I can. Fourth, I want to learn from my mentors and their experiences. This next year, I would like to take this knowledge and wisdom I obtained from Joshua to get more involved in the church and in my family. I am looking forward to growing a strong community with my roommates as we sharpen each other to be more like Jesus. I also am looking forward to serving the church and learning what I am passionate about. I think this year will be a great opportunity to learn what it is like to work in a church and where I fit into the congregation.
